TFM Migration Frequently Asked Questions

What is TFX?

Treasury Financial Experience (TFX) is the next-generation solution for federal financial management guidance. It is an intuitive online platform, created by the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, offering an easy-to-use, single source for federal financial management policy and resources. Our resources include the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), Financial Management (FM) Standards, US Standard General Ledger (USSGL) and more resources, such as the FM QSMO webpage, coming soon!

Who is TFX for?

TFX was initially designed to support anyone who references federal financial management resources, such as the Treasury Financial Manual, to more easily find the information they need. We are now expanding the platform to be a one-stop-shop for financial management resources. If you are looking for more general information from Fiscal Service, please visit our homepage.

Where can I find TFM content?

TFM content can now be accessed on TFX with two view options.

Classic View:
Traditional version of TFM for users who prefer to navigate by Volume and Chapter. This version mirrors the legacy TFM format, with minor updates/fixes in navigation tabs.

Why was TFX developed?

Fiscal Service has worked over the past several years to reimagine the Federal Financial Management experience. This has included:

2017: Initial assessment of TFM Vol. 1, conducting 8 Focus Groups with over 350 participants, which identified significant issues in quality, consistency, search, content and external linking.

2019: TFX was initiated to address these issues and ultimately become a user-centric resource, integrating information across multiple areas to streamline financial management and provide a more personalized experience for those who use it.

Now: TFX has become our one-stop platform for Fiscal Service policy, guidance, and instruction.

Looking ahead: Stay tuned as we continue to bring more resources and enhancements into the TFX platform!

What if I have trouble finding something on TFX?

TFX has a search function to help you find the information you need quickly. You can also use the TFM Classic view to find the information you need the same way it was presented on the TFM website – in the original volume and chapter format. Additionally, the TFX team is available to answer your questions – contact TFXFeedback@fiscal.treasury.gov.
