A courtesy disbursement is a U.S. Treasury Check issued by the Bureau of the Fiscal Service as a result of a Federal Program Agency submitting a "reserved" stop reason code. Courtesy disbursements are currently restricted to the Social Security Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Personnel Management, and the Railroad Retirement Board.
