Deceased payee intercepts are U.S. Treasury Checks that the Federal Reserve Bank identifies and returns to the presenting bank because the payee died before the check was issued and, therefore, no entitlement exists. The checks are returned stamped: "Payee Deceased-Questions Contact Authorizing Agency."
